Suitable Sauna Heaters

When it comes to suitable sauna heaters for this barrel sauna, we have multiple options for you. You will need a sauna heater that is 8 or 9 kW. The Sauna Heater recommends HUUM Drop 9 for this sauna.

Something to note when it comes to your sauna heater choice, is that we recommend you to get the weather proof electrical enclosures for your control panel and the electrical module, when you go with a sauna heater that has external controls. These enclosures ensure that no matter how harsh the conditions get, your electrical equipment will be protected. If you place your sauna in a way that it won't be exposed to weather conditions, you won't need these accessories.

DIY Construction

This sauna will be delivered to your curbside as a DIY kit. Here’re some important things to account for when considering the placement of this barrel sauna:

1. You want to have a leveled surface under the barrel sauna. You can place the sauna on concrete blocks or strips that have compressed gravel underneath. You can use geotextile under the sauna to prevent the growth of any grass. Sauna can also be placed on your terrace or balcony. Just make sure you have a leveled surface under the sauna that can handle the weight.

2. You need an electrical line for your sauna heater to the placement of the sauna. Most sauna heaters require 240V. 

3. You will need a 120V electrical line for the lights of this sauna.

4. Constructing the sauna yourself is simple if you’re a handyman. You can get a good idea of the installation from the installation manual.

5. All sauna heaters require the electrical work to be performed by a certified electrician.

Something we recommend for everyone, would be the barrel sauna floor. This levels the floor of the sauna, and significantly enhances your sauna experience.

For additional lighting, you can get the EMood Ergo, which is made out of the same wood as the barrel sauna itself.

For lighting the outside of the barrel, you can have SaunaLife E8 Sconce+ outdoor sauna light set.

For treating the outside wood of your sauna, you can apply SaunaLife Sauna Wax. You will also be able to modify the color of your sauna with the sauna wax, when choosing other than standard clear color for it.

You can treat your sauna benches with SaunaLife Sauna Paraffin Oil, and protect them from moisture, dirt, and humidity by applying the oil.

Keep your sauna clean with SaunaLife Sauna Cleaner, specifically designed to be used with SaunaLife saunas wood materials.

When it comes to throwing water onto your sauna heater, to create steam (löyly), you can get either SaunaLife Accessory Package 5 (includes Bucket, Ladle, Hygrometer and Thermometer, Black) or SaunaLife Accessory Package 6 (includes Sauna Bucket Set with Wood Ladle and Thermometer either black or white).
