Our Vision: To Inspire Wellness, Clarity, and Connection
East Coast Saunas started with founder Nick Talio's decade-long relationship in the Fitness Industry.

After studying Kinesiology in college, Nick spent years as a personal trainer and coach. The sauna became his ritual after workouts—a place to recover, think, and connect with others. But the more time he spent in the heat, the more he realized it was giving him something beyond physical recovery. It became where he found his footing when life felt chaotic.
That realization led him down a rabbit hole into traditional sauna culture. He discovered that in Finland and across Northern Europe, the sauna isn't just part of a fitness routine—it's woven into daily life. Families gather there. Friends solve problems there. Communities are built there. It's treated with reverence, not as a 15-minute post-workout afterthought.
The contrast with how Americans typically experience sauna hit him hard. We were missing the point entirely.
Nick founded East Coast Saunas to change that. Based on Long Island, NY, we're bringing the authentic sauna tradition to the East Coast—not as a luxury add-on, but as a practice that can genuinely change how you live.
Our 3 Pillars - Wellness, Clarity, and Connection
Wellness
The ancient practice of sauna bathing is now backed by modern science, revealing profound benefits for your body.
Regular sauna use strengthens your heart, improves circulation, and supports healthy blood pressure. Research shows that frequent sauna sessions can improve cardiovascular health dramatically!
In our modern world, we're exposed to countless environmental toxins daily. The heat of the sauna activates your body's natural detoxification processes, helping eliminate heavy metals and chemicals stored in your cells through intense sweating.
Perhaps most compelling: studies demonstrate that consistent sauna use(4-6x per week) can decrease all-cause mortality. This isn't just about feeling good today—it's about adding healthy years to your life.
Clarity
In a world of constant notifications, endless scrolling, and relentless noise, the sauna offers something increasingly rare: silence and stillness.
Step into the heat, leave your phone behind, and give yourself permission to simply be. As the sweat pours and your body works, your mind clears. The sauna becomes a sanctuary for introspection—a place to process thoughts, gain perspective on challenges, and ground yourself in the present moment.
This isn't meditation you have to force. It's clarity that emerges naturally when you create space for it.
Connection
There's something profound that happens when people sit together in the heat. Barriers drop. Conversations deepen. Real connection forms.
The sauna creates a unique environment for community building—a space where communal suffering brings people together. Whether with family, friends, or new acquaintances, the shared experience of heat and sweat opens doors to meaningful conversations that might never happen elsewhere.
Some of life's most honest discussions, biggest breakthroughs, and strongest bonds are forged in the sauna.
